This study explores the possibility of using condominium apartment buildings as community centers (kōminkan) for residents of Kawasaki city in Kanagawa Prefecture. In terms of methodology, the paper uses a field study, interviews, and a literature review to analyze such facilities, focusing on condominiums. The results of the study reveal that securing financing is greatly affected by the size of the membership in the local community association (jichikai) and that the area most likely to use condominiums for this purpose are densely populated urban areas with high prices of land.
