This study aimed to review the planning methods used against the growth and change of hospital architecture and consider how they were used in the process of the growth and change. A bibliographic survey, a questionnaire survey and a hearing survey were conducted to achieve above 2 goals. The following results came out through an analysis on these surveys: 1) The planning methods were categorised into 17 types. 2) Statistical trends in the adoption of the planning methods were clarified. 3) The usage situations of the planning methods of 19 hospitals were grasped.
