PROBLEMS FOR UNMAINTAINED VACANT HOUSES MEASURES BY MUNICIPALITIES AND A PROPOSAL OF COUNTERMEASURE SCHEME

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to clarify the measures for municipalities to tackle with the current problems of unmaintained vacant houses based on the nationwide survey. As the result, it became clear that the main problems and the important points for solving these problems. The problems that had been pointed out before are not solved in many municipalities, and some additional problems are found. There are many cases where it is difficult for municipalities to take positive measures even to unmaintained vacant houses that adversely affect the surroundings.
