Abstract

In Japan, despite increasing expectation for migrant to revitalize rural areas, they are often faced with difficulty in securing their jobs. This research, particularly focusing on all 17 restaurants in a rural municipality of Tatsugo Town, analyzes setting up process of the restaurants owners including migrants as well as locals, discussing how migrants can create their jobs. The result confirmed the migrants’ difficulty in finding land and/or tenants due to less human network than the locals. However, it implies that changing style of tourism could open new opportunity for the migrants.
