コロンビア・メデジンの都市再生をめぐる都市計画的経緯に関する俯瞰的研究

Medellín’s urban regeneration, particularly “Social Urbanism” focusing on informal settlements in the 2000s, is regarded as one of the world’s most innovative cases. This study aims to provide a perspective by exploring the historical context and current status concerning Medellín’s experience for other developing cities trying to upgrade informal settlements. Through the study, the conclusion highlights the various activities in the 1990’s leading to Social Urbanism as well as the subsequent roles of the private sector and planning culture, and highly evaluate the participatory methodology and the scale-up to address the challenge of informal settlements.
