Abstract

Phase change materials (PCM) are expected to be indoor thermal environmental control materials in a residential house. In this paper, experiment for effect of introducing PCM was conducted in test chamber with PCM wall. The relationship between difference of melting point of PCM and indoor thermal environment were analyzed by CFD. As a result, the difference of indoor temperature fluctuation was small due to different pasting positions of PCM. It was suggested that energy saving effect and good indoor thermal environment may be formed by expanding PCM area and applying melting point of PCM equivalent to air-conditioning control temperature.
