This research focuses on the relationship between spatial self-position detection by referring to landmarks, and the specific visual field function. Through an experiment using virtual environment technology, we verified the relationship between the self-position detection accuracy based on landmarks and the gaze tendency of subjects. The results suggested that when detecting the spatial self-position using some landmarks, there are subject who mainly gazing at landmarks and who are mainly gazing at other than landmarks. In addition, it was shown that the self-position detection accuracy differs between the two groups by changing the visual area where the landmark is displayed.
