This paper clarifies the actual condition of guaranteeing the building envelope at the design and construction stage in the Asian tropical region, by grasping the legal system in different regions and analyzing the actual conditions of ensuring the building envelope performance in the practice. Even in areas with similar architectural styles and lifestyles under hot and humid climate, the required level and range of envelope performance divers, which has been resolved by self-effort. This research insists on the environmental performance of the building rely on the client consciousness, though the total system seems to secure the performance until construction.
