In this study, three experiments using virtual environment technology were conducted to examine the effect of the shape of curved passages on the judgement of direction. The following findings were obtained. 1) The miss-shift of the direction judgement was larger in the curved passages with turning angles of 90 to 165 degrees than in the straight passage. 2) The miss-shift of the judgement of direction was larger in the curved passages with a radius of curvature of 3500mm than in the curved passages with a radius of curvature of 500mm.
