The Asahi Shimbun Photo Archives have several images of the 12th Tokyo Olympic Games that were scheduled to be held in 1940. Among these images are several perspective drawings that had previously remained undisclosed, such as the tennis court, martial arts stadium, the outdoor swimming pool, and the Kishi Memorial Gymnasium. In this report, we clarify the architectural features of the facilities of these Games by rearranging the photo archives in line with newspaper reports on the Games. We also analyze the development process of Japanese modern architecture during the war, which previous research has failed to address.
