Abstract

Test specimens with cover thickness of 30 mm was fabricated using concrete containing a large amount of blast furnace slag. After proceeding with carbonation, exposure tests were conducted at different relative humidity, and the self-potential and corrosion current density were measured. As a result, the values of self-potential and corrosion current density were equal when the relative humidity was the same, regardless of the difference in cement type. Therefore, the corrosion rate of rebar after carbonation of concrete containing a large amount of blast furnace slag can be evaluated as being the same as that of concrete using ordinary portland cement.
