We conducted a shaking table test to verify the control performance of TMDs for a gable roof using a scaled-down specimen and two TMD models. The test specimen comprises two-gable frames with 5m span and ridge frames bridging between them. The two TMDs were designed by the double-mass dynamic absorbers method. From the test results, it could be confirmed that the TMDs was very effective for reducing seismic responses except maximum displacement under the El Centro wave loading case. The control performance depended on the vibration characteristics of the TMD device.
