Abstract

In the top-down construction method, a cast-in-place concrete pile head embedded with steel column is usually arranged reinforcing bars to prevent splitting at the pile head. The reinforcing bar has been designed in accordance with the conservative guideline because of few past studies. This study inspected the effect of arranged reinforcing bars near the bottom of the embedded section for the axial compression strength of the pile head. It evaluated the pile strength for CFT column through experimentation using the pile diameter as a parameter arranging the reinforcing bars near the bottom of the embedded section of the specimen.
