This study simulates the people flow in Shibuya station with a free walking space under two modes: before and after earthquake occurrence. The purpose is to verify how to effectively utilize the sparseness and density areas created by the movement of multiple pedestrians and the necessity of installing the guidance device. The simulation examines the effects that the presence or absence of the guidance device has on the station environment, such as shortening pedestrian movements and easing congestion. The results clearly show that the appropriate installation of the guidance device in the target space will help improve safety.
