Abstract

The development of timber tensile joints with high strength is expected, and it is necessary to prevent brittle fractures of wood. Therefore, we conducted experiments on tensile-bolt glulam joints with wide range of shear length, which had not been verified so far. The tendency of strength, failure modes and stiffness on the shear length is discussed. Finally, evaluation method of the strength considering the failure modes is proposed.
