In this study, in order to investigate the architectural planning methods that connects public facilities and local communities, we focused on intermediate areas and investigated activities observed there. Then we found the following three characteristics as an Engawa that connects people.
A: Diversity of activities
B: Behavioral selectivity
C: Coexistence of different attribute
In addition to considering the specifications of boundaries and the arrangement of flow lines, preparing a number of intermediate areas of various levels will make it easier to strengthen the Engawa of the entire facility.
