The aim of this study was to gain knowledge that would contribute to increasing the number of related population using villas. The study focused on villa areas in the northern part of Gifu Prefecture and used building registration records. The following was found: a large number of buildings were constructed between 1969 and 1975 and between 1990 and 2002; after about 2003, the number of acquirers through transfer of rights is higher than through new buildings; the owners are mostly located in neighboring prefectures such as Aichi, Gifu and Mie.
