IMPROVEMENT OF THE TYPOLOGY ON ANALYSIS OF DISTRIBUTION TREND REGARDING ROOF RIDGE ORIENTATION OF MACHIYA

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to propose a more detailed classification method for the orientation of machiya buildings based on the survey results using the Internet map function. The results of this paper reveal:

1) The flow of the machiya classification and the criteria for judging each type of machiya, which had not been fully explained in previous studies.

2) For machiya that combine hirairi and tsumairi, we subdivided them based on past research on the interior space.
