Abstract

CO2 emissions for heating and cooling were calculated for standard models of detached houses and apartment houses. Based on the results of heating/cooling CO2 emissions for various window performances, some examples of CO2 emission increase/decrease per unit window area for the study window compared to the standard window was shown. In the future, it will be possible to study CO2 emissions over the entire life cycle of a house for each window performance by combining the embodied carbon and the CO2 emission increase/decrease during use as shown in this study. This is expected to lead to reduction of CO2 emissions.
