Abstract

This paper reports the results of a study aimed at quantitatively understanding the impact of thermal performance of window on the operational carbon of non-residential buildings. Model buildings were set up for each building use, and the CO2 emission reductions per unit window area are calculated for a total of 19 different window specifications, assuming average building design specifications for new construction and renovation. From the calculation results, the relationship between window thermal transmittance and CO2 emission reduction is shown, and the characteristics are clarified for each building use and region.
