Abstract

This study identifies the reality of phased development of settlement promotion housing using PFI projects in the town of Sakai, Ibaraki Prefecture. Sakai town supplied variety of municipality-led housing have been implemented on a trial basis to verify these unique projects, not only through the development of apartment buildings utilizing PFI projects, but also through the pilot supply of detached houses, which are in high demand among relocated residents. Consequently, these processes have contributed to the expansion of relocation by establishing new schemes and supplying unique types of housing, such as garage houses.
