This study clarifies the working environment and career development issues of migrant workers in Malaysian and Thai construction industry through literature and interview surveys. Having transformed from sending workforce to developed countries into accepting it from developing countries, both of two have the challenges of skill training and on-site instructions in order to educate low-skilled workers. On the other hand, the tolerance towards foreigners is expected to continue bringing an influx of workforce in the future. Japan is required to appear the benefit of Japanese construction work for acquiring migrant workforce.
