Carbon fiber reinforced foam (CFRF) is a material composed of carbon fibers, resin, and voids. In this study, we focused on a common structural feature between CFRF and wood from the perspective of fiber reinforced porous material, and evaluated CFRF to understand its usefulness as a building material. We verified the workability of CFRF, and performed compression, partial compression, bending, and shear tests on CFRF, cedar, and Douglas fir in accordance with wood standards. As a result, we clarified that CFRF has deformation properties like those of wood.
