Abstract
Life studies for the first and the second grades at primary school was introduced in academic year 1992 based on present "course of study" notified in 1989. Parks near primary school play important roles in "life studies" especially for the first grade. This study firstly observed roles of parks and secondly had a case study at Mizumoto Primary School in Muroran City. Desirable parks for "life studies" were made clear through both questionnaire to teachers and workshop together with pupils. New "course of study" also expects important roles of parks in "life studies".
