Abstract
Because of climate conditions, the pedestrian space in Harbin has many different features with other cities. With analyzing the problems of Harbin downtown area's pedestrian space, basing upon pedestrian space original quality safety, convenience and delightedness, put forward the new viewpoint of improvement planning: human as a main role in the redevelopment of pedestrian space ; three-dimensional network ; improving the level of management and upholding.
