We researched the house plan and living style of farm houses in Dalian, northeast China. We cleared some characteristics on the plan type and living conditions of houses. Main features of this papers are as follows : 1. We can find the typical northern life style that people use a Kang as original heating system and they have unique activities on the Kang. 2. People have the original principle with their house plan and the housing principle has a very simple system and sustainble meaning. 3. We can find the new trend of changing on the northern living style and housing principle due to the modernization. The change has both sides of plus and minus to their living. So we should study the new planning system and original design of houses for the northern regions as soon as possible.
