This study examines the legislation and management system for multifamily housing in the Republic of Korea. A part of them has a striking similarity to Japan, but the other has distinctive characteristics, such as the relationship between laws, management issues by developers, capacity building in the management, maintenance systems. This study analyzes these issues in comparison with Japan, extracts strong points and problems in theoretical and practical aspects, and shows some suggestions to Japan.
