Abstract
Difference among multi temporal DEMs represents a topographical change of land surface. However, a DEM contains many kinds of errors, which result from GCP conditions, and these errors may be propagated to a DEM difference. Therefore, we should eliminate these errors before calculating differences among DEMs. In this paper, we propose the new method, Minimum RMSE method, which cancel DEM errors when calculating differences. Minimum RMSE is calculated as a RMSE between two window kernels on the different DEMs, P (i, j) and Q (i+u, j+v). Q takes offset vectors (u, v) to suffix (i, j), which minimize the RMSE between P and Q.
