Abstract
This study aims to clarify behavior of residents after the Tohoku Pacific Earthquake, and we have special interests in Hitachi City, Ibaraki prefecture where the earthquake and tsunami affected the daily life of residents. We conducted questionnaire and interview surveys in four case areas: Central area, old and new housing estate in mountainous areas, and coastal area. Questionnaires were sent to 2000 residents, and 492 (24.6%) were collected and used for this analysis. In this paper, behavior of residents and the roles of communities will be examined.
