The housing vacancies in suburbs: a case study of Kure city

Abstract

Recently, there are serious aging in suburban housing estates. These phenomenon had been induced by short term developments. In these housing estates, age groups of residents are almost same. And after 30 or 40 years, their children move out their houses and they got older. So there are many elder couples and elder people. And after their children move out there are vacant dwellings in housing estates. These vacant houses caused regional problems for community activities and security. The aim of this study, we try to find out the vacancies in housing estate in Kure city.
