Abstract

This study focuses on problems in risk management for domestic animal infectious diseases. The researcher clarifies inadequacy of the use of geographical information system for quarantine at the time of the foot-and-mouth disease outbreak occurred in Miyazaki prefecture. In addition to that, farmers rearing the susceptible animals had great difficulty in maintaining land for burial of culled animals.
