Abstract

Ezochi-jinya has been built and managed by the Sendai clan, the Morioka clan, the Tsugaru clan, Akita clan, Shonai clan, the Aizu clan in Edo-era. These Jinya was placed for the purpose of security and territory management. Although these are similar to the castle, living space was narrow. Officials had been dispatched from each clan.
