Abstract
Understanding of the geomorphic history and its environmental significance provides residents and administrative bodies key ideas in the consideration of risk to natural hazards including flood, earthquake, and their compounds. This symposium intends to present some updated results of studies concerned and to discuss the measures to apply the scientific knowledge as common information on disaster prevention and/or hazard mitigation, using examples of the central part of the Kanto Plain, central Japan.
