Abstract
New Shinkansen lines had started operation in Nagano, Tohoku and Kyushu area. Many reports describe regional changes, however, few refer evaluation about economic and social impacts. To overcome problems of new Shinkansen lines, geographical evaluation and advice are valuable.

For example, the terminal of the Hokkaido Shinkansen, named Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto after nearby Hakodate city and Hokuto city, faces problems connected with geographical issues. Two cities have been opposed over the name, and although it is going to establish in spring of 2016, the eclectic name disappointed them. In addition, the developers canceled the building hotel because of unprofitability.
