Abstract
The basis of map learning is the skill of "matching the map with the terrain". This skill relates to map learning and field learning. This skill is useful not only in geography learning but also in everyday life. This skill can be learned by orienteering. Orienteering is suitable as an effective learning form for handling maps outdoors in standard classes with one teacher and 40 students. The learning system of orienteering is related to the site of the lesson and the map scale and is consistent with the viewpoint of map learning. Orienteering is also significance as active learning.
