Abstract

In Japan, where the aging of the population is increasing year by year, there is a need for city planning in cities across the country for the elderly to feel free to go out. Previous studies on this topic have rarely compared multiple cities, therefore, this study categorized 70 cities based on data from the National Survey of Urban Transportation Characteristics and analyzed the characteristics of each category. As a result, some trends pointed out so far can be confirmed. Besides, there were differences in the outing rates among regional cities.
