Patient: The patient was a 40-year-old female who came to our hospital with a chief complaint of masticatory dysfunction due to maladaptation of her dentures. The mandibular bilateral first and second molars had been lost, and esthetic impairment caused by secondary caries of the maxillary anterior region was noted. Following reconstruction of the mandibular molar region with dental implants, the maxillary anterior teeth were restored with a 6-unit fixed restoration.
Discussion: The patient was followed for more than 5 years after treatment. During this observation period, pathological bone loss around the dental implants was not detected. The applied restorations remained in good condition.
Conclusion: The masticatory dysfunction caused by the loss of occlusal support was resolved with good results after treatment using dental implants.
