Patient: The patient was a 77-year-old female who complained of an uncomfortable feeling due to a removable denture, chewing difficulty and pain in the anchor teeth. The patient had non-vertical stop in the molar region. The treatment provided a non-palatal overdenture with magnetic attachments for the maxilla and a removable partial denture for the mandible.
Discussion: A favorable result was obtained using an overdenture to eliminate the lateral force on the anchor teeth and correct the occlusal plane for the maxilla. In addition, the patient was satisfied with the improved retention, stability and non-palatal denture by the magnetic attachments. It is necessary continuously to observe fitness, periodontal tissue, and occlusion.
Conclusion: For this partially dentate case with non-vertical stop in the molar region, oral rehabilitation using an overdenture with magnetic attachments has achieved high patient satisfaction.
