明治期北海道図書館史序説

抄録

The history of libraries in Hokkaido began in 1894 and many libraries of educational institute were established at every place in Hokkaido.
Among of them Hokkaido Educational Institute which was founded in 1902 published books, periodicals, and held seminars. Above these activities the establishment of the library contributed to social education in Hokkaido.
This library which was established in 1907 continued to 1918 and influenced to set up two public libraries in later years.
