Characteristics of the enhancement of the infrared transmission spectrum with the use of a thin Pb film were investigated from a point of view of its applications to a method for microanalyses. Magnitudes of the enhancements were kept constant at about maximum in a wide region of the Pb film thickness, which suggests that reproducible data are easily obtained without a strict control of the Pb film thickness. The calibration curve was linear over the quantity region between 50 and 500ng/cm2.
