Simultaneous Determination of Sodium Dialkyldithiocarbamates by Ion Exchange Chromatography

Abstract

A simple and reliable method is described for the determination of sodium dialkyldithiocarbamates (R₂NCS₂Na:R=CH₃, C₂H₅, n-C₃H₇, and n-C₄H₉) by high performance liquid chromatography. They were injected onto a column packed with the strongly basic anion exchanger and separated with an eluent of acetonitrile-phosphate buffer containing no ion-pairing reagent. This method was applied to the analysis of commercially available R₂NCS₂Na. It was demonstrated that the results are in good agreement with those obtained by the potentiometric titration.
