Abstract
The reaction between Ni(Pic)2·6H2O (Pic=picrate anions) and N,N,N′,N′-tetrakis[(2-benzimidazolyl)methyl]-1,2-ethane-diamine (EDTB) in DMF resulted in a mononuclear nickel(II) complex, [Ni(EDTB)](Pic)2·4DMF. Crystallographic studies show that the Ni(II) ion is octahedrally coordinated to four benzimidazole imine nitrogen atoms and two amine nitrogen atoms in EDTB.
