The crystal structure of (pydaH)[Sb(pydc)2]·3H2O·0.5CHCl3, as a self-associated complex containing LH2, has been determined by the X-ray diffraction method. The crystal system is triclinic with space group P1 and four molecules per unit cell. The unit cell parameters are a = 9.328(2)Å, b = 13.476(3)Å, c = 20.343(4)Å with α = 87.49(3)°, β = 86.69(3)° and γ = 75.96(3)°. The final R value is 0.0464 for 11647 measured reflections. In this compound the Sb atom is attached to two (pydc)2- groups. Each of the two complexes gathers together via hydrogen bonds of two counter cations. The deformation of the structure supports the activation of the lone pair on antimony(III).
