Crystals of dimethyl [4-tert-butyl-2,6-bis(1-naphthyliminomethylene)phenolato]gallium (1) are monoclinic, space group P21/c with a = 14.797(3)Å, b = 10.651(2)Å, c = 20.260(4)Å, β = 93.55(1)°, V = 3187.1(11)Å3, Z = 4. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined to a final R value of 0.0412 of 4150 reflections (I > 2σ(I)). The gallium atom was bonded by one oxygen atom and coordinated by one imine nitrogen atom, forming one six-member ring.
