The crystal structure of (pipzH2)1/2 (pydcH)\\middot;(pydcH2)\\middot;H2O (pipz = piperazine, pydcH2 = pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid) has been determined by X-ray diffraction. This compound crystallized in the triclinic system, space group P1 with unit cell parameters: a = 8.338(3)Å, b = 9.246(3)Å, c = 11.843(4)Å, α = 97.435(6)°, β = 94.580(6)°, γ = 109.960(5)°. The final R value was 0.0434 for 2950 measured reflections. This compound has a sheet motif made by strong and weak hydrogen- bonding interactions between carboxylic acids, which have a host role for piperazine guests.
