Crystal Structure of Meticrane

The crystal of the title compound, C₁₀H₁₃NO₄S₂, belongs to space group Pbca with cell dimensions a = 10.070(2), b = 14.362(3), and c =16.237(3)Å. The final R value is 0.057. The 3,4-dihydro-2H-thiopyran ring takes a half-chair conformation. Two sulfur atoms are significantly deviated from the phenyl plane. They are located on the same side of the plane. There are three intermolecular hydrogen bonds between the amino group and the sulfone oxygen atoms.
