Abstract
Effects of measurement condition such as temperature and gas pressures and also effects of film thickness on the permeability and other related permeation parameters of low-density polyethylene manufactured by an Iranian company have been studied. Comparison of obtained results with presented results in literature for other polymeric films show that these results are in agreement with previously presented results. Also, some methods presented in literature for prediction of gas permeability through polymeric materials are briefly reviewed and their prediction results are compared with obtained results. Polyethylene films are prepared by film blowing process with different thickness. Permeability parameters were measured with a set-up based on the ASTM D1434 and manometric method for pressure measurements.
