The final goal of this investigation is the systematization of microencapsulation technique with coacervation method. For this purpose, microencapsulation of glass beads was performed by complex coacervation of gelatine and acacia. Glass beads were chosen as a model core material, because their narrow size distribution and spherical shape. The complicated effect of core size on microencapsulation was excluded successfully by the use of a solid core material with a narrow size distribution. The respective effects of various experimental factors were systematically investigated in detail and the encapsulation mechanism was attempted to be elucidated. The following effects on the membrane thickness and circularity of the formed capsules were mainly studied; dosage of acetic acid, pH values before and after the hardening process of capsule, dosage of membrane materials, size and dosage of core material.
