This paper aims to examine the domestic water resource transactions in Japan. In order to understand the entire water circulation among Japan's manufacturing sectors, the virtual water flow analysis, which quantifies the water consumed to produce intermediate and final goods, is necessary. It is accomplished by utilizing the Japanese Regional Input-Output Tables and Census of Manufactures (1995 and 2000). This paper also provides comparisons between the calculated results and other estimations that are based on the Heckscher-Ohlin-Vanek theorem.
