Utilization of Local Resources for Environmental Education Activity on Elementary Schools

A Comparative Study on Local Characteristics of Public Elementary School in Tochigi Prefecture

Abstract

A questionnaire about environmental education activity on elementary school showed differences of activity in each local characteristic. Focused on utilization of local resources and the cooperative activities between the school and community, typical schools were researched the way of interview and observation. The comparative analysis showed a tendency that local resources corresponding with each characteristic are select and the conference of local community, PTA and administrations act as an intermediary between the school and community.
